21 Sep Kids’ Math Anxiety Reduced When Learning With Tutors
Imagine calculating how much to tip your waiter, while sitting in a large vat of tarantulas. According to a study done by Stanford University your child experiences similar levels of anxiety learning math. To find out, the scientists gathered 46 third-graders who answered questions about math worries and tested on simple addition problems while having their brains scanned via an MRI.
They performed the same test after having each student work 8 weeks with a tutor , not only did the students perform better but anxiety levels went down by 20%!
