As Director of Academics, Fareed focuses on fostering the continued growth of Bee Tutored, and ensuring its continued high level of dedication to clients. He is primarily focused on creating exciting classes, cultivating new partnerships, hiring talented educators, and working closely with clients.
Fareed got his first taste of teaching at Wesleyan University, where he majored in Cognitive Science and English graduating in 2009. He worked as an assistant for a psycholinguistics professor leading small group classes and has never looked back. In the summers off from school, he interned at the Bowery Poetry Club assisting with creative writing courses and tutored underprivileged students through the No Child Left Behind Act. Once he graduated, he helped create subsidized after-school tutoring programs at the Brooklyn Sports Club and the non-profit Peter Westbrook Foundation. He then went on to tutor students one-on-one, lead various test prep classes and create rigorous curricula, working at high profile schools such as The School at Columbia, British International School of New York, United Nations International School, Urban Assembly Academy of Arts and Letters, Oliver Scholars Program, and NEST+M among others. Fareed is a patient and empathetic educator who knows how to best serve all different types of students and is ecstatic to help bring his vision to Bee Tutored.
